We often hear of someone who has done some extraordinary act being described as a hero.
But many of us feel like that term could never be applied to our lives because we feel, well, just ordinary. But God isn’t looking for extraordinary people. He is looking for ordinary people who are simply willing to live their lives for him.
The Bible is full of stories of ordinary people that God used to change the world through simply obeying Him. Often it is the small acts of courage, sometimes unrecognised by others, that touch people with God’s love and change situations for the better.
Today God is looking for ordinary people who are willing to carry out small but courageous acts and become heroes in His eyes. At camp this year we want to look at how each one of us can become one of God’s ORDINARY HEROES.

The good news about Jesus is not just for adults, it is for children and young people too. The programme at camp reflects Good News Crusade’s commitment to make the good news available to everyone. There is something for everyone, every day.

UNDER 5’s PROVISION
All under 5's on site can be cared for each morning of the main programme. For school age children and young people daily activities provide an exciting mix of fun, music, games and Bible teaching. All our staff are CRB checked and full Child Protection Policy is available. It is very important we are made aware of any special needs your child may have. From the youngest to the oldest – there is a wide range of teaching and other activities for everyone on camp.
Please note: There will be an Evening Celebration every evening at 7.30 pm. Tuesday will be a day off when there will be no teaching programme during the daytime (9am – 4pm).
On Thursday there will be an All-Age Celebration in the morning followed by Water Baptisms. Last year this was a very precious time as God ministered to the whole camp through the children and young people. Many people were healed, set free, delivered and received words of prophecy and encouragement. A meeting not to be missed.
The last meeting will be the Evening Celebration on Thursday.
We need to vacate the site by FRIDAY 12noon.
There will also be “new” events going on throughout the week which we haven’t done before!

DAY VISITORS
We strongly recommend you check with the GNC Office before setting out, to confirm the programme of activities for the day you wish to attend. Please note: no pets are allowed on site, except Guide Dogs.

TAUNTON
The county town of Somerset is at the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Blackdown, Brendon and Quantock Hills, and the Somerset Levels all provide a wide range of beautiful settings, that make this area a premier holiday location. Cheddar Gorge, Longleat Wildlife Park, Exmoor National Park, the historic cities of Bath and Exeter are all within easy reach. For those for whom a summer must include the beach, Weston-Super-Mare and the north Somerset coast are recommended and easy to get to.
Taunton Racecourse is less than 5 miles from Junction 25 on the M5 motorway and less than an hour from the M4/M5 interchange. The Racecourse provides an excellent site with lots of room for camping and caravaning and various function rooms for children’s and young people’s ministry.

Carl beech graphic

Carl Beech
Carl heads up CVM – Christian Vision for Men. Carl says “we are based in Chesterfield and travel the whole of the UK (we go anywhere for a good fry-up or curry) “ Many of you will remember Carl from last year and the camp was impacted by his fresh, fun and down to earth message. We love working with Carl and it will be a privilege to have him back with us again. He has a passion to see people reached for Jesus and living the life God intended us to live.

Steve Double
Steve’s passion is to see every person who follows Jesus equipped to touch their community with the Kingdom of God. He will often provoke and challenge us to get out of our religious ruts and to discover the things God wants us to do outside of the traditional ways of doing things.
